ABSTRACT : Atopic dermatitis
(DA) affects the quality of life of patients due to frequent exacerbations. Many
DA pherogenesis factor. Specific environmental triggers include irritant agents
and allergens. Identify and stay away from important inner trigger factors
the treatment. Skin prick test is a method of detecting specific IgE
certain allergens (food allergens, allergens inhaled). Objective: Knowing
characteristic of DA patients, and evaluated the results of skin puncture test of DA patients as well
its clinical relevance. Methods: Retrospective studies of DA patients who were tested
skin prick during 2007-2012. Results: Nineteen of 57 patients (33.3%) tested
positive skin prick against one or more allergens, and 36 patients (63.1%)
negative skin prick test result. One patient (1.8%) positive skin prick test results
false, and 1 patient (1.8%) with false negative skin prick test results. Allergens
most positive on skin prick test was house dust in 8 patients (42%)
and crabs in 6 patients (31.6%). Clinical relevance of skin prick test results
positive patients were found in 11 patients (58%), and 8 patients (42%) were not found
its clinical relevance. The positive skin prick test patient appears to have symptoms
and the clinical manifestation of DA is more severe than that of the skin prick test
negative. Conclusion: In this study, allergens can be detected in 19 patients
(33.3%) with skin prick test, most allergens were house dust (42%) and
crab (21.6%). The clinical relevance of the skin prick test results was found in 11
patients (58%). The skin prick test is recommended in the management of DA patients,
to detect environmental allergens that cause exacerbations, this examination
has significant clinical relevance
